The success of the company is based on every member of the team passionately living five core values. First: client intimacy – putting the client at the center of everything. Second: creativity – to go beyond the ordinary into the extraordinary. Third: commitment – a dedication and devotion to perfection. Four: Integrity – to be an honest, trustworthy partner to clients and architects. Five: accountability – to ensure that the right things are done, right. These values form the foundation of the company’s culture.

The TEAM

‘Our most important assets go down the elevator every day’. These are, of course, our sixteen talented and dedicated professionals. Our motto is: “Best Alone. Better Together”. That is, each individual aims to be the best in her craft while the team together strives to take excellence to a new level. The quality of the firm’s working environment is important too. Ours fosters collaboration and enhanced productivity. It puts people in a “good mood” which is a vital ingredient of creativity. Our studio serves as a rich information and memory center. It also tells our story; a non – fiction one. Gil Walsh Interiors is not your ordinary design firm. It has been described as a place where thoughtful solutions live. A place where perspiration and inspiration meet. A place that transforms space. A place that creates worlds of comfortable elegance. A place where timeless style lives.

"Design is not just what it looks like,

MARTHA’S Vineyard STUDIO

Gil’s love for the unique styles of Martha’s Vineyard led her to establish an office there. It’s the variety of styles that attract her. Colonial Homes of all styles, many of which belonged to wealthy sea captains in a time gone by. Gingerbread Cottages with playful, bright colors and whimsical touches mixed with elaborate woodwork carvings. Greek Revival styled homes with columns, front facing porches and detailed, artistic moldings roofed by relaxed shingles.  “Modern” 1950s homes – aesthetically glass walled to be in total harmony with the land. And, of course, Luxury Mansions designed to afford idyllic indoor – outdoor living with breathtaking views from every room.  Now there are a breathtaking number of interior design styles to mix and mesh to fit any room of any of these homes. Thus, for example, Gil might select the stone for the fireplace to be evocative of the island’s old stone walls.

ART & SCIENCE

At Gil Walsh Interiors the “art” of interior design is blended with the “science” of interior architecture. Simply put, this means that we not only take responsibility for the “soft side” but also the “hard side” pertaining to the creative expression of our clients’ personal story. Thus, we produce detailed scaled drawings by hand to illustrate [among other things] our custom kitchens, bathrooms, built-in cabinetry, millwork finishes and lighting. Ideally then we strive to add value across all stages of the construction process, from the initial plans right through to the finishing touches.
